Our Story

Our first vinegar was developed accidentally in 2005 when there was an overabundance of raspberries. The vinegar was for Christmas and the response of our friends and family was amazing. We then placed some on our farmers market stand and were never able to have enough.

Chaparral Gardens Artisan Vinegars start with hand selected, hand picked fruits, herbs, and vegetables grown on our organic farm. The fruits and herbs are placed in small vats along with an organic Kosher base vinegar.

Our vinegars are made with love and we hope that you make them a mainstay in your pantry for years to come.

A Behind The Scenes Look At Chaparral Gardens

Chaparral Gardens is 20 acres of natural landscape along with a 2 acres organic farm. Our wonderful micro climate, in the California Central Coast, allows us to grow a wide variety of fruits, herbs, and vegetables. All work to create our products is done by hand, from pulling weeds to hand labeling.

Our Process

Chaparral Gardens Artisan Vinegars start with hand-selected, hand-picked fruits, herbs, and vegetables grown on our organic farm.

The fruits and herbs are placed in small vats along with an organic Kosher base vinegar.

We add the "Mother" ingredient, developed from the original batches.

Patience is a virtue

The infusion is then taken through a "mild" fermentation process that takes several months to complete.


Two more secret steps are taken to ensure the flavors are locked in before our products are bottled up and ready to eat.
